Caspar Douma joined BexerHamstra as a consultant on 1 July 2024, after having worked there as an intern for a year. He studied Natural Sciences and Innovation Management at Utrecht University, the Netherlands, and took a master’s degree in Econometrics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
‘I enjoy making calculations, including statistics and data processing. And the consulting business now teaches me the beauty of interacting with clients. I understand what they want and what must be done to achieve it. It is satisfying to then implement my plans in a disciplined manner and deliver concrete results that really help an organization.
At BexerHamstra I focus on pensions, since there is much work to do in this field, with the new pension system that is being introduced. Often, this requires explaining complicated matters to make them accessible. This is something I have always enjoyed doing. I used to train children in ice skating, and later worked as a remedial sciences teacher while I was in college.
Having worked at BexerHamstra as an intern for a year, I was keen to stay. This is because the work there is interesting, but also because of their open and friendly atmosphere. They are a group of lively, spirited colleagues I can learn a lot from.
