Gerco Slabbekoorn started as a consultant with BexerHamstra in September 2023, specializing in Organizational Advice. He studied Public Administration at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands, and took a master’s degree in Organization Studies at Tilburg University, also in the Netherlands. While he was in college, among other jobs he worked as a team leader with Albert Heijn supermarkets, and did an internship at IT and telecommunication company KPN.
‘What is an organization’s company culture like, what are their issues and challenges? I find it really interesting to figure that out and to puzzle until I have the best solutions for those challenges. Helping organizations with sound advice is something I learnt much about during my KPN internship. I assisted internal team managers with innovation matters, all the way from analysis to solution and on into the support provided for collaborative projects.
I ran into BexerHamstra when I was working on my master thesis. Its subject was the effect of time pressure on the commitment of employees, and the effects on this of CSR policies. BexerHamstra is a firm where the human dimension and collaboration get priority, something I really believe in. Also, BexerHamstra’s client diversity attracts me. Each case has its own challenges.
Working with clients and my colleagues – who have so much experience – sharing insights and finding the best approach really energizes me. I feel involved with organizations, I want to have impact. So I commit myself entirely to do so.’
